Red Stamp Art Gallery is pleased to present LOST IN TRANSITION, Ellen Schippers's personal exhibition, which will open on Saturday 21 October 2017 at the gallery's location on Rusland 22, in the heart of Amsterdam; the show, curated by Sonia Arata, will be introduced, on the inauguration day, by a critical presentation by art historian, writer and guest curator Dick Adelaar.
LOST IN TRANSITION consists of a video installations section and a photographic part; it features the fascinating and enigmatic visual world peculiar to the Dutch artist, who with mastery blends various means of expression to lead the spectator through an experience: performance, video, photography and music together create a particular atmosphere which is able to seduce with its subtle emotional vibration.
From the digital threshold of the screens placed around the space, through refined video artworks and photographs belonging to the same cycle, ethereal and enigmatic figures appear, archetypal sirens and icons of the feminine which emerge from the sensual and deep imagination of Ellen Schippers.
It's a magnetic and sophisticated universe which invites the visitor not only to an intense aesthetic fruition, but also to experience empathy with the distant and close calling of another dimension, theater of an alchemical transition where the temporary loss of the essence of identity constitutes a return towards the recovery of the integrity of the self and of the soul.

Red Stamp Art Gallery è lieta di presentare LOST IN TRANSITION,mostra personale di Ellen Schippers, che si inaugurerà Sabato 21 Ottobre 2017 presso la sede della galleria, in Rusland 22, nel cuore di Amsterdam; l'esibizione, curata da Sonia Arata, sarà introdotta, il giorno dell'apertura, da una presentazione critica dello storico dell'arte, scrittore e curatore Dick Adelaar.
LOST IN TRANSITION, che si articola in una sezione video installativa ed in una fotografica, mette in scena l'affascinante ed enigmatico mondo visivo peculiare dell'artista olandese, che con maestria miscela vari mezzi espressivi per condurre lo spettatore attraverso un'esperienza: la performance, il video, la fotografia, la musica compongono insieme una particolare atmosfera in grado di sedurre con la sua sottile vibrazione emotiva.
Dalla soglia digitale degli schermi dislocati nello spazio, per mezzo di raffinatissime opere video e lavori fotografici appartenenti allo stesso ciclo, si affacciano eteree ed enigmatiche figure, archetipiche sirene e icone del femminino che emergono dal sensibilissimo e profondo immaginario di Ellen Schippers.
Un magnetico e soffuso universo che invita il visitatore non solo ad una intensa fruizione estetica, ma anche a sperimentare l'empatia con il richiamo, lontano e vicino, di una dimensione altra, teatro di una transizione alchemica dove il temporaneo smarrimento dell'essenza identitaria costituisca un passaggio di ritorno al recupero dell'integrità del sé e dell'anima.

Red Stamp Art Gallery is blij u LOST IN TRANSITION te mogen presenteren, de solotentoonstelling van Ellen Schippers die op zaterdag 21 oktober 2017 geopend wordt in de galerie op Rusland 22, in het hart van Amsterdam. De expositie, gecureerd door Sonia Arata, wordt op de dag van de opening geïntroduceerd met een inleiding van kunsthistoricus, schrijver en gastconservator Dick Adelaar.
LOST IN TRANSITION bestaat uit een sectie met videoinstallaties en een met foto's. Het toont de fascinerende en enigmatische visuele wereld die eigen is aan de Nederlandse kunstenares, die op meesterlijke wijze verschillende media met elkaar vermengt om de toeschouwer door een ervaring te leiden: performance, video, fotografie en muziek scheppen samen een bijzondere atmosfeer die in staat is om je met zijn subtiele emotionele vibratie te verleiden.
Van over de digitale drempel van de schermen die in de ruimte geplaatst zijn, verschijnen er, via zorgvuldig gecreëerde video's en fotografische werken die tot dezelfde serie behoren, etherische en enigmatische figuren, archetypische sirenes en iconen van het vrouwelijke die uit de fijngevoelige en diepe verbeelding van Ellen Schippers voortkomen.
Het is een magnetisch en verfijnd universum dat de bezoeker niet alleen uitnodigt om intens esthetisch te genieten, maar ook om empathie te ervaren met de roep, ver en dichtbij, van een andere dimensie, theater van een alchemistische transitie waarbij het tijdelijke verlies van de essentie van de identiteit een terugkeer vormt naar het hervinden van de integriteit van het zelf en van de ziel.
